What is the SDC?
Development cooperation with the countries of the South and the East, humanitarian aid, and multilateral cooperation: these are the major tasks entrusted to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC. The SDC is part of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA. It is the Confederation's competence center for the coordination of development cooperation and for the implementation of Switzerland's development policy. The goal of the SDC is to improve the living conditions of the poor and disadvantaged in its partner countries. In the South and the East, the SDC is active in some thousand projects conducted in partnership with the local populations, governments, and independent organizations.
